Welcome to Wayby Wools

Situated in the beautiful Central Hawkes Bay area of New Zealand, Wayby Wools aim is to supply high quality natural and coloured wool products.

A fascination for the rare breed Gotland Pelt sheep was the start of the flock, which were originally bought to provide wool for my own weaving and fibre art studio. Their 27-33 micron wool is silky and lustrous and excellent for felting and spinning.

We started with wethers for their wool quality but as we have become involved with the Gotland Pelts, the desire to start a breeding programme saw the flock increase.

The Gotland Pelts are very friendly, inquisitive sheep and are extremely easy to handle. They have wool free, black faces and legs, and are born with short tails. We also have coloured Romney, Polwarth, Gotland cross sheep.
